brownie in a mug
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp sugar*
- 2 tbsp dutch-processed cocoa
- 1 pinch of salt
- 3 tbsp milk
- 1 tbsp canola oil
- 1/4 tsp vanilla
- 2 tsp chopped walnuts
- 2 tsp semi-sweet mini chocolate chips
In a microwavable mug or small bowl, whisk the flour, sugar, cocoa and salt until well blended. To the dry ingredients, add the milk, oil, vanilla and whisk until smooth. Add in the chocolate chips and walnuts. Stir until combined.
Microwave for 1 minute and 10 seconds (in a 1200W microwave).
Recipe Hints
- if you prefer it sweeter, use 1 tbsp sugar
- other cocoa can be used
- you can use any non-flavoured oil
- skip the walnuts if you prefer
- you can use full size chocolate chips if that's what you have
- save a few of the chocolate chips to add to the top before microwaving
- serve with ice cream or whipped cream
- if your microwave is a different wattage, you may need to adjust the timing
- for a "sweeter" presentation, mix ingredients in a separate mixing bowl, then gently pour into the mug or bowl that you will put into the microwave
