cabbage rolls

  • 1/2 box uncooked Uncle Ben’s rice (approximately 2 1/2 cups)
  • 1/2 onion diced
  • 1-1/2 lb. ground beef
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 2 tins tomato soup (Aylmer preferred)
  • 1 head cabbage

In large pot boil cabbage for 20 minutes.

In a bowl, mix together rice, ground beef, onion, salt, pepper and 1 tin of soup. Add some mixture to each leaf and roll up.

Pour some tomato soup and water together into the bottom of the pan. Arrange cabbage rolls over top. Pour tomato soup over rolls.

Recipe Hints

  • Uncle Ben's converted rice is one of the best rices to use in this recipe.
  • Layer the bottom of a roasting pan with extra cabbage leaves to help prevent burning on the bottom.
