chocolate ice cream
- 2 cups whipping cream
- 2 cups 1/2 & 1/2
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup chocolate syrup
- 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 1/8 tsp salt
Pour cream directly into a large bowl. Add sugar, chocolate flavouring, vanilla, cinnamon and salt. Stir with wooden spoon until sugar is dissolved.
If using a freezer attachment for Kitchen Aid, place all ice cream attachments on mixer and start mixing before adding the combined ingredients.
Once processed, move ice cream to a freezable container and store in the freezer.
Recipe Hints
- 6 tbsp cocoa can be used it place of chocolate syrup
- variations could include:
- 1 tsp rum extract before processing
- 1 tsp almond extract before processing and 1/2 thinly sliced almonds after processing but before hardening
- 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips after processing but before hardening
- 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips and 1/4 cup chopped nuts after processing but before hardening
